Shinnyo-en Foundation hosts an Annual Retreat as a place for our grantees, partners in service, Shinnyo-en temple members and youth to connect, be inspired and learn from each other. Since its beginning in 1999, we’ve invited participants to join us at the beautiful Marconi Conference Center in Marshall, California. Over time, the retreat itself has taken many shapes, evolving into the intimate gathering that it is today.
We believe that we must deliberately create space and time for reflection in our busy lives. The Annual Retreat is intended to provide participants with a rejuvenating and meaningful opportunity to connect with people in the field of service, service-learning and volunteering, and to think deeply about one’s own personal, cultural and spiritual roots of service.
Currently, our Annual Retreat is held during the second weekend in August. It is a private, invitation only meeting so as to guarantee a personable and intimate reflective time for participants.
