The Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawaiʻi Reflection Videos are now available to watch.
Beautifully filmed, thoughtfully edited, and expertly produced by veteran videographerBill Parisof Crew Hawaii Television, who has documented the Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawaiʻi for us for more than 15 years, the video collection captures the reflections of distinguished guests who participated in this year’s ceremony in Honolulu.
The collection includes one feature video of approximately 10 minutes, along with three shorter videos of approximately two minutes each. Featured in the interviews are Josh Gezahegn of the Volunteer Center–South Bay, Harbor, Long Beach, California, and Karen Osmanski and Renée Dorn of the Community Character Coalition of Elk Grove, Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
The interviews were recorded on the morning following the Shinnyo Lantern Floating Ceremony, held on May 25, 2026, offering heartfelt, immediate reflections while the experience was still fresh in the participants’ minds. These personal accounts complement their recently published article, “Carrying Light Forward: A Journey of Peacebuilding and Connection,”which explores the lasting impact of the event.
