Global Ambassadors’ Summer Media Workshops

Two partners of the Foundation, the White Plains Public School District and the White Plains Public Library teamed up for an exciting summer workshop series for middle and high school students. Led by the Global Ambassadors student organization at the White Plains High School, two 2-week digital media workshops were offered at the library’s new teen space, The Edge, this July. Eight teams of students learned about technology, script writing, and storytelling to create nine episodes of React News, in addition to a handful of very creative iMovie trailers. All of their episodes can be found here. React News is produced by youth for youth in order to RESPOND, EDUCATE, ACT, CELEBRATE and TRANSFORM. To celebrate its tenth year of hosting the Interfaith Youth Forum, the Interfaith Youth Council of Orange County (IYCOC) will be holding a “Faith Festival” on Saturday and Sunday, March 22-23, 2014, at Rosary High School in Fullerton, CA. The festival will have two parts: On Saturday, IYCOC will “express faith through art” with an art show and performance showcase all day.
